Fernie's Railyard Dog Park

The Pets Society designed and built this fully fenced off-leash dog park centrally located within the City of Fernie. The park is free to use and is open all year-round. A defining feature of the park is the paved trail network that runs throughout the 10 acre site. The Society manages the park through a service agreement with the City of Fernie

Our organization uses Trafx trail counters to monitor the number of visitors.

Spay & Neuter Incentive Program (SNIP)

The Elk Valley Spay & Neuter Incentive Program (SNiP) offers subsidized surgical procedures to qualified low-income cat owners. SNiP also provides free spay or neutering for feral cats and homeless cats that are being fostered while awaiting adoption. The intent is to encourage people caring for cats to have them spayed or neutered in order to control the unwanted cat population.
